Pick up from hotel in Kota Kinabalu city for about 3hrs drive through scenic countryside to the North of Kudat, passing views of paddy fields, villages, oil palm plantation, local stalls selling handicraft and food items. En-route visit Sumangkap Village, well known for its "Gong" making skill by its local artisan. Proceed to the Bavanggazo Village for your check in to the Longhouse. Built entirely using local materials, it is a home to the Rungus people community, a sub-tribe of the indigenous kadazandusun. Lunch would be either at the longhouse or Sunjamal resort.
Proceed journey for about 1 hour to Simpang Mengayau. Perhaps a chance in your lifetime, upon reaching here, one must know that you are now standing right at the tip of Borneo, hence its popular name "The Northern Tip of Borneo". In addition to its fascinating scenery of long stretch white sandy beach, its beautiful northern tip sea, the breeze of wind blowing, this tip was blessed with a wide publicity especially in Borneo, through popular mass media and the latest 2003 book edition entitling 'Kudat', with the northern tip photo as a full front cover. Complete your journey in Borneo by stepping your foot here.
Proceed for an approximately 45minutes journey to Kudat town, the first capital of British North Borneo Chartered Company, for a brief visit before returning to the longhouse.
Arrived and shower. In the evening, after your traditional native dinner, you will be presented by this community by wearing their full costumes with a traditional Rungus cultural dance. Your chance to further observe their very own unique bead works, lifestyle and costumes. Overnight in twin bedded local style room at the longhouse.
