Situated about 232km from Kuching, the Skrang River is home to the Iban tribe of Borneo. Journey overland (4-5 hours) through rural Sarawak, passing through rain forest, rubber and pepper plantations, rice fields and oil palm groves to Pais Village. A native longboat awaits you at the river for a half hour boat journey through tropical rain forest to reach the longhouse. A chance to observe the village life of the Ibans and witness the ngajat (traditional Iban dance) (L)

Day 1: Kuching - Skrang
Depart overland to Skrang River, which is about 232km away from Kuching. Along the way pass through rain forest, rubber and pepper plantations, rice fields and oil palm groves. Lunch en route. A native longboat awaits you at the river for a half-hour boat journey through tropical rain forest to reach the longhouse, home of the Iban tribe. After settling down in the longhouse, join the guide for a nature walk or swim in the river. In the evening, you will be the guest of the tribal chief for a jungle feast. Tonight stay in the longhouse and partake in entertainment Iban style, (L,D)
Day 2: Skrang - Kuching
After breakfast catch a blowpipe demonstration and practice your talents. Thereafter return to Kuching. Lunch en route. (B,L)

Day 1: Kuching - Skrang
Depart for a 4-5 hour overland ride through rural Sarawak. Lunch at one of the market towns on the way. Along the way, pass through rainforests, rubber and pepper gardens, rice fields and cocoa gardens. Arrive at the river where a “longboat” awaits you. The approximately one-hour boat journey will carry you deeper into the Borneo jungle to reach the longhouse, home of the Iban tribe. In the evening, be the guest of the tribal chief for a jungle feast. You will stay in the longhouse for the night. (L,D)
Day 2: Skrang River Longhouse
A full day spent up-river trekking in old secondary rainforest or boating and experiencing the way of life in the interior. Have a picnic lunch and some time to swim before returning to the longhouse. In the evening a chance to join in the home grown entertainment. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Skrang - Kuching
After breakfast, return by boat and overland to Kuching. Lunch en route. (B,L)

Day 1: Kuching - Nanga Kesit
Depart by air-conditioned van for Lemanak river (4 hours). Journey through rural Sarawak, passing pepper gardens, cocoa and rubber plantation. A few stops will be made along the way. Visit the colorful native market in Serian town where a variety of jungle produce such as edible ferns, bamboo shoots and unusual tropical fruit are on display. Visit a pepper garden and stop by to view wild orchids and several species of pitcher plants. Lunch at one of the market towns in Sarawak. Upon arrival at the Lemanak river, proceed by longboat (about 1 hr) upriver to Nanga Kesit longhouse. Settle in at the jungle lodge. After dinner visit the longhouse. Relax on the ruai (common verandah) and spend time with the Iban people. Learn about their culture and enjoy some local rice wine. Overnight lodge. (L,D)
Day 2: Nanga Kesit - Kuching
After breakfast, witness a cockfighting and blowpipe demonstration, followed by a short jungle walk around the village area. Depart down river by longboat, then by coach. Lunch en route. Proceed to Kuching. Drop off at your hotel in Kuching. (B,L)
