Drive about 35 minutes to Bako Village. From the village, take about a 25-minute boat ride (depending on the tide) to the park situated in a peninsula. Bako is one of the best places in Sarawak to see wildlife in a natural surrounding. The various types of animals that are commonly spotted at Bako include the proboscis monkeys, silver leaf monkeys, long tail macaques, wild boars, monitor lizards, and numerous species of birds. Tropical rainforest ranges from mangrove to kerangas (heath forest), tropical swamp vegetation, cliff vegetation and beach vegetation. There are several trails inside the park depending on level of fitness and interest. There is a possibility to swim in the warm waters of the South China Sea by one of the secluded beaches. Return to Kuching mid-afternoon. (Schedule may depend on tide) (L)

Day 1: Kuching - Bako National Park
From Kuching, drive about 35 minutes to Bako Village. From the village, the park is about another 25-minute boat ride. Bako takes its name from the mangrove forest that surround the coastal region of Sarawak. Bako is one of the best places in Sarawak to view wildlife in a natural surrounding. Check in at the park chalets. There will be hiking through jungle trails, sunsets, and swimming in the sea by secluded beaches. Overnight at the park chalets. (L,D)
Day 2: Bako National Park - Kuching
Following breakfast, hike on one of the many trails or revisit one of your favorite trails for a more detailed exploration. Return to Kuching by early afternoon. (Schedule may depend on tide.) (B,L)

Day 1: Kuching - Bako National Park
Take an early departure for Bako National Park. Take a 35-minute drive to Bako Village. From the village, take a 25-minute boat ride to the park. Bako is one of the best places in Sarawak to see wildlife in a natural surrounding.After lunch, hike to the kerangas (heath forest) plateau. Birdwatch and look for pitcher plants, orchids “antplants” and other symbiotic plants. Swim in the warm waters of the South China Sea. Overnight at the park chalet. (L,D)
Day 2: Bako National Park
Spend the morning spotting rare migratory birds and searching for the rare and elusive proboscis monkey, a primate to be found only in Borneo.Bako has incredible bio-diversity owing to the fact that there are so many different forest types in a small area. This is a great place to encounter wildlife as the animals have become used to people visiting the park. In the evening, go for a night walk. Overnight at the park chalet. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Bako National Park - Kuching
Following breakfast, hike to the mangrove forest for bird watching and to search for proboscis monkeys. Return to Kuching in the early afternoon. (Schedule may depend on tide.) (B,L)

Spend the morning bird watching then hike to the kerangas plateau. Pitcher plants, orchids, antplants and a variety of unusual and unique forest vegetation can be spotted. Lunch at a secluded beach.More bird watching and wildlife viewing activities in the afternoon. Overnight at the park chalet. (B,L,D)
Day 4: Bako National Park - Kuching
Following breakfast, a final hike on one of the trails before departing for Kuching. Return to Kuching in the early afternoon. (Schedule may depend on tide). (B,L)
